She could never lose you for your not hers to lose
Even though everything isn’t clear
She sees how this may end
For this has happened time and time again
So let’s begin
These women have bags that they carry from great lessons they learned

They have baggage that they travel with but never really care to stop and unpack
Their insecurities and deepest secrets
It takes too much time
& by the time their ready
“Her Man” is on to the next pretty lady
With smaller bags
Easier to carry
Or maybe she’s concealing shit
Just so you could marry
And be merry
That shit is fucking scary

But what about the real ones?
Laying out everything like a stop and shop
An exhibit of everything that they are, everything they use to be, what broke and made them

In some bags, they carry souvenirs of every man that ever hurt them
Things that broke them
They hoped that the broken pieces
piece together to give them
Peace

Peace
At ease when someone can look past the bags
And see them
Flaws and all they’d give anything to truly be seen

They’ll open up
& stripe down to their naked souls
Just to be seen
Believe
This shit ain’t easy
But it’s their baggage to carry

They bruise easily not just on the outside
But on the inside
Beautiful teeth but a broken smile

If they unpacked everything
Would you still want them?
They’re strong women but can cling to good things so sorry if you can’t breath

But
They detach because their independent and pack when they don’t think you're ready
The vulnerability is not an option

Like a wanderer
Do people ever wonder how many reach to love them?
How many frauds, Roll up their sleeves with eagerness to help unpack
But when everything is laid out
Their intentions are different
So the woman is laid out because you only wanted to lay her down

And there goes another bag
Extra weight to carry still valuable to marry
These women are tired now
Ready to give up

Not lacking a damn thing
Just want to feel like a queen, worthy of a good man, a backbone and a ring
The simple things

Why is it that good women carry their baggage like a burden?
When it’s not her
It’s society who made it look like she was worthless
